Prof. Shirley Zinn is Adjunct Professor at University of Cape Town, board member of Sanlam Limited, MTN-SA, Afrocentric, AdvTech, Spur Corporation, LRMG Performance Architects and Boston Consulting Group SA. She has her own company Shirley Zinn Consulting that provides consulting and advisory services in HR, Transformation, Leadership and Education.

She has held various positions : Extraordinary Professor at University of Pretoria’s Faculty of Economics and Management Sciences; President of Institute for People Management and Harvard Alumni Association SA; Chair of DHL Global Forwarding SA and Institute of Bankers; Deputy Chair of the Council of UCT and board member of Sygnia Asset Management, Shoprite Holdings and Cricket SA; Group Head of Human Resources, Woolworths; Head of Human Resources, Standard Bank; General Manager Human Resources, SARS; Regional Human Resources Director for Middle East and Africa, of Reckitt Benckiser, listed on the London Stock Exchange and Group Executive HR, Nedbank;

Shirley hails from the Cape Flats, holds various degrees, is a coach and mentor, has presented at numerous national and international conferences and has completed nine Two Oceans Half Marathons. In 2015, she published her autobiography and best-seller “Swimming Upstream”. She has received numerous awards: Top Woman in Business and Government, Top Executive in Corporate SA, Most Visionary Woman, Excellence in Global HR Leadership, Africa’s Most Influential Women in Business and Government in the SME Sector, Continental Winner in the Business and Professional Services Sector and listed in the Top 30 Wonder Women in SA.
